Thanks, I was playing around with the digital camera and I used the "motion blur" setting with the auto flash and snapped the pic as the train was passing and it gave me that effect.  I'm going to use my tripod when I do some more of those in order to keep the clarity of the foreground and background thus only blurring the train.  I also tried the locomotive as it was coming at me, but the effect ends up making it look like the train is going backwards, so I'm going to actually run the train backwards with the same settings to see what that gives me.  My guess is that it won't be a ghost train but instead make it look like it is really speeding along.  Guess I'll find out soon enough, come to think of it; now seems like a good time for a study break. This is the best I could do with the locomotive, it doesn't like reversing with the full consist around the turns, so I couldn't keep my speeds up as much as I needed.

It really seems to work the best with the passenger cars.
