Weaver PS-2 CD cars 2 rail to 3 rail?
Posted by Boyd on Thursday, September 14, 2006 1:11 AM
One nearby hobby shop usually has used Weaver PS-2 CD hopper cars in 2 rail. Can I just swap on Weaver 3 rail trucks or is there something different in the casting or details? Do other trucks work also. How much should I expect to pay for them?

It's usually just 1 long screw holding the truck and coupler.  I've changed the plastic for die cast a few times. The 2 rail trucks should be the same, 1 screw, only the truck and wheels are a little smaller(scale?)  But changing them is the same thing, 1 screw.  I have a Weaver C&O box that came with both 2 and 3 rail trucks.  Again, just 1 screw.  Real easy, no problem.  The die cast trucks run about   $10/pr now.  Jim's Train Shop in Homer, Pa. will discount Weaver trucks if you buy from him.
Only by the grace of God go I.
