If you are refering to the Lionel FASTRACK accessories, I've seen them on several layouts (not my own, I use K-Line track) and they are neat.  I would encourage  placing the track gang accessory on a spur to the layout edge, and use a momentary push button to activate same... I have noticed that this accesory will "wear-out" some if left continuously on.  The scrap yard accesory I don't quite get.  We have a scapyard on the west side of town, and I've never seen them dismantle anything on a siding.

All in all, I like Lionel's new track a lot.  It has a great profile, and they have provided a lot of expansion pieces.  What I don't like about it --- too ridged.  Tubular or Gargraves gives you that extra "wiggle" room if things down line up jesssst right.
