I'm a member of local Vol. Fire Co. Looking into having a Train Show. Where do I start and how do you put one together. Located in Pa. Thank you.

Once you have a date, you can submit it to Classic Roy Trains and other magazines for publication, although it probably needs to be submitted well in advance. You might try the local newspaper too. They might be willing to run a story providing some free advertising, after all who doesn't love to trains. [:D] You may also want to print some fliers to have them placed on tables at trains shows and meets prior to your event.

Where are you in PA? Jefelectric, LAZ, Colin/TMCC Man and I along with some of the regulars on this forum might come.... if it's not too far.

First, Check local hobby shops and magazines to make sure that no other shows will be happening the same weekend. Also, try to do it when you figure more people will be around and perhaps have disposable income, ie, just prior to Father's day, etc. Also, go to any area shows and get cards from dealers that show up so that you can contact them to sell table space. Lastly, contact some local clubs, or people that would be willing to set up some layouts. A successful show will have displays that will draw the crowd, then it is up to the dealers to sell the trains. Good Luck.
