Just rcv this w/a 2025 K-4 steam engine. The "uncoupling contact" (not sure of proper part name) on the rear truck fell off on first run and the knuckle coupler is too low ... the rear truck appears to have too much vertical play in it as compared to other rolling stock. I have searched everywhere I could think of today trying to find a diagram of this tender. I found a parts list only so far. I noticed that this part rotates where it apparently goes back in, but I cannot get it to stay in. I'll not attempt repair.adjustment until someone with way more experience than me on this list gives me a green light and some instructions.

How do I adjust the coupler height to align and how do I reassemble the contact? The engine runs great and the whistle on this tender is super ... however it won't stay coupled to the next car consistently. I'm currently running with the tender that usually runs with my 224, but it's whistle is sad sounding! Appreciate any advice to this rookie re-entering this great hobby.

What fell out on your tender was the sliding shoe. It's riveted in place with a fiberboard plate against a flat copper spring. Your fiberboard plate broke, and so the only way to get it back in place is to re-rivet it. I've lost a few, and I either live without or just replace the entire truck. The last truck of that type I bought I paid about $8 for.

As for adjusting the coupler height, if you look at the coupler carefully, you'll see that it's staked to a metal arm. You can take a pair of needle nosed pliers and carefully bend this arm until it's at the correct height.
