What is the best way to clean the coils on a ZW transformer? The coils are black where the carbon rollers travel, I tried electrical contact cleaner, but that didn't work that well.....thx.....tom.

in the thread zw transformer there is a link to olsen's toy trains. the link will take you to transformer's, and if you want to purchase a owners manual go to E-Bay type zw transformer and you can purchase owners manual's for them.

When I re-built my 275 watt ZW, I used a pencil eraser and/or LPS
Electrical Cleaner spray. They both worked good.

I would just wipe off any carbon that bothers you. I think that any little particle that ever shorted a turn would burn out quickly.
