Hello there , firstly please excuse my ignorance for all things train like .I bought an Ernst Plank wind up train today and have been trying to find some info on it , when it was made , how much it might be worth etc , but have not had much luck.It is a Union , has several bits missing including the funnel but still has its original key and does work.Any help would be great.
Many thanks

I do not know anything but found this on the web. Note this item is from an auction of the late Ward Kimball's premier toy train collection. Look down the page a bit.

Thanks for the welcome .That was the only reference to Ernst PLank I could find as well , so I have no idea if it worth a lot or not .Mine is not in good condition at all and has no tenders .There seems to be little information on it .
All the best

Margaret,

I should have thought of this the other day.

You could try contacting the Train Collectors Association at:

http://www.traincollectors.org/

The Train Collectors Association
P.O. Box 248
300 Paradise Lane
Strasburg, PA 17579
(717) 687-8623 Phone
(717) 687-0742 Fax

You could try an e-mail to ref-library@traincollectors.org. This is the TCA's extensive toy train reference material library. Ask what info they might have on Ernst Plank trains. Since I assume you are not a member, they may quote you a reasonable fee to do some research.

BTW - you should take some digital photos and have them available to e-mail or post for additional help for your search.

Regards,
Roy
