to establish blocks in your layout can the normal sections straight or curved of the fastrack be utilized rather than using insulated and / or isolation[black][/]

[#welcome] to the forum. Yes, you can make your own insulated sections from regular Fastrack by cutting the rails. If you mean center rail insulation, the easiest way is to simply cut through the rail in the middle of it's length. Outside rail insulation needs rail cuts, and also to have the metal bridge plate under the track to be removed.

You can cut the rail as stated above but keep in mind that the rails are embedded into the road bed and if you use a Dremel tool it will probably leave a mark on the road bed to get all the way through the track.

You should flip it over, bend the tabs up on the rail to cut and pu***he rail up away from the road bed to make your cut. I used this method at first but didn't like the big gaps in the rails.

You can remove the pins from the ends of the track and place a thin peice of plastic between them to get the same result without the cut. Another benifit of this method is you can replace the pin if you wanted.

On the underside of the track bend the tabs up on the end and the next set of tabs back to keep from bending the rail when you pry it up from the road bed. remove the pin and then place a thin peice of clear plastic a little wider than the rail under the rail, pu***he rail back down and secure the tabs again. Fold the plastic up to cover the end of the rail and trim it to the rail height. once in place you can see it!
