Does anyone out there know how to replace the light bulb in a Marx 413 Switch Tower? I've looked all over mine, and can't see anything but metal tabs holding it together. I can't believe that Marx would seal the bulb inside permanently. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Try sliding the roof in the direction parallel to the ridge.

Thanks. I did that, but the roof doesn't move. There seem to be metal tabs keepig it from sliding. Can the roof be safely pried out far enough to clear those tabs?

Ugh - I have one (that I think was my grandfather's when he was a child) and it's definitely a slide off roof, although sometimes it take a bit more force than you might otherwise think to apply. Perhaps there's some corrosion holding it in place. I would definitely not try and pry it off from the sides - the ridges holding it on are pretty wide, so you'd have to compress the body (or pull down on the roof slides) a lot IMHO to remove it that way.
If the red window celluloid is still intact (I just found that mine shrank over the last 20 years and broke away from the rivets holding it on), putting a lot of force on the body will almost surely cause it to pull away from the rivets.

The roof DOES slide off a 413, if yours has tabs it may not be Marx.
