In the Q and A section of the September issue of CTT, CTT answered a question dealing with the Lionel operating hobby shop. Problems with the diodes in the early production units allowed the lights to work but the miniature trains would not run. Is there a way that I can tell if the unit that I own is one of those early production units? I purchased my "Madison" version of the hobby shop a few years ago but have never set it up (to operate). Thank you for any information you can provide.
Not sure if the problem spanned over to the Madison version or not.
The earlier first edition was the one called "Mid Town Models".
