Turn marker lights off on MTH GP38-2?
Posted by billbarman on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 11:55 AM
I have a few MTH GP38-2s (one Long Island, the other 2 are New York & Atlantic, one powered, one non-powered) and something's been bugging my for a while. Is there any way to turn off the red marker lights at the nose and long hood of the powered units? I thought there was no way to do it, until I recently saw a few Youtube videos of the same engines I have running with the lights off. I'm sure there's a way to do it with DCS, the problem is, I don't have DCS (I've been a TMCC guy). Is there any way to turn the marker lights off conventionally?

Do you have access to an MTH Z-4000? You might be able to do that with the Z-4000. Otherwise you will have to invest in the DCS system. The only other way to turn off the lights and that is to unplug them from the circuit board if it is possible when you take the engine apart.

If you have a train store in the area, they should be able to do it for you.  (Assuming they have a MTH capable layout.)
