The evolution of my Control Panel 2006 - 2013
Posted by dsmith on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 7:08 PM

I started thinking of building a Lionel 027 layout in 2006.  It began with a temporary layout and one transformer on top of a pool table.  As I began to figure things out, I built a permanent  5' x 9' layout.  As I continued to learn about the electrical needs of the layout, the control panel slowly evolved and expanded.  By 2013 it is in its final form and is working well.

David,

Thanks for starting this thread and sharing the video of your control panel.

Kev,

Thanks for sharing your photos as well.

Both of you do great work and I'm glad you are willing to share it with us.  I have limited electrical and wiring skills so seeing these photos benefits me greatly.

Regards,

Joe

David,  i always enjoy seeing photos of your layout!  Your layout is one that many could attempt  to build with limited space and a modest budget.  Thanks for posting.

Here's my control panel at an early stage of construction.  It contains 2 Z-1000's, switches and meters.  Sorry it doesn't show a close up but it was all I could find this morning.

Finally! I've been trying to sneak a peek at your control panel everytime you post your pix. Looks really nice!
