traction tires
Posted by chucky2025 on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 1:16 PM

couple of ?s i am new to modelrailroading and need some help. first ? i just purchased a broadway limited passenger car set # 6-1487 with the 8304 steam engine this was made in 1974 i believe. it was still sealed in original box. i paid 130.00 for it was that a fair deal? second ?  i opened it put track together and oiled everything per operating instructions everything works good except the traction tire keeps falling off is this an issue with these steam engines or could it be that it is just old regardless of the package being sealed or maybe oiled something i shouldnt have. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Its a good deal. New price in my books says 225.00 The traction tires get old and rot, you just need to get another one fro ma dealer or hobby shop.
