ZW "Multi-Control" TM Controller problem
Posted by Jitney55 on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 10:51 AM

I have a Lionel type ZW "multi-control" TrainMaster Controller and Powerhouse transformer set, Lionel # 6-22982, with two 135 watt bricks.  I am operating it in conventional mode, and the track voltage stays on full power on channels B and D, regardless of whether the controlling handles are turned all the way up or down. I have the transformers (bricks) and jumpers plugged in correctly, according to the instructions, and have rechecked the track wiring several times and still cannot get the voltage to come down. I have also tried the  "reset" feature.  Can anyone help?

Thanks, Jitney55

Sounds like you need a board repair.  There's a guy, Dale Manquen, in the OGR forum that fixes them, here's his site: TrainFacts

Great, hopefully he can bring it back to life.  The symptoms sound like the driver triacs, which I think he has in stock.
