On a recent photo safari I managed to get these two shots of a North American Flyer, in it's native habitat.

I have figured out what is wrong with my brain!  On the left side nothing works right, and on the right side there is nothing left!

A Merry Christmas to all from North Carolina..Santa's train is on the ready track waiting for a midnight departure as a white flagged express..pulled by a battery operated Euro steamer. Meanwhile a search is on for Santa throughout the town well...Santa is kinda preoccupied.

Nothing is more fairly distributed than common sense: no one thinks he needs more of it than he already has.

One of my projects this week was to paint some flawed castings I got from Stoney Mountain Classic. The first part are some assorted old cars that will spread out over the back half of the layout and the second part is a junkyard scene that will also be on the back half of the layout, so little details aren't a requirement. The paint used is flat and satin latex house paints. Since they are latex they have a problem sticking to resin so it's necessary to spray on a thin coat of gray primer or Clear Flat first.

The first part, the old car bodies ranging from 1937 to 1951.

The second part, the old junkyard scene:

That's all for now.

I'm generally intimidated by the scenic excellence of the other posters, but I've been emboldened by the prior 'carpet layout' poster.

So here's my two or three cents:

I love the pictures on the old track right on the carpet!  I think it's something the kid in all of us can grasp the easiest.  I respect and probably envy the realism of "hi-rail" layouts, but I really love the look of toy trains right on the floor, too, especially circling around a tree!

Merry Christmas!

Electric trains on the floor is O gauge operation at its finest. When the wife heads West each year to visit family I bring out the standard gauge stuff and set up carpet central division.
