Does anyone know the story behind this transformer and if there are other production items with similar markings(this one is molded in - raised lettering in the plastic)?

When Lionel liquidated stuff from their factory and Kughn liquidated Madison Hardware a lot of interesting stuff made its way into the Toy Train Community.

It's AC... the RS-1 that was conservatively rated at 50 watts but has a much better(closer to 100 watts) output than the 1033.
