Trouble with MTH operating track and Lionel KW transformer
Posted by upshift on Saturday, December 18, 2010 8:21 AM

I have a section of MTH operating track powered using a Lionel KW.  I have it wired for auxiliary power.  The uncoupling part function works ok but the operating rails do not seem to get activated, checked with multimeter.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

JD

Have you checked to make sure that power is getting to the control rails? Maybe the control rails are too low to work with your trains.

On another forum Lionel's new uncoupling track is having problems, it causes derailments according to the people who have posted. Try measuring the control rail heigth verses a post war Lionel track.

Thanks Lee, I found the problem.  Mis-wiring on my part, I have it set up for auxiliary power and messed up.  Working ok now.
