Has anyone ever seen a Marx 999 pre war closed pilot loco with a solid copper chassis?I have one that I acquired in a lot of trains from ebay,it was thrown in free with another 999 and some cars and such!It is in extremely good condition and very beautiful with all that copper under her!I have a buddy on ebay that said he has heard of one that he knows of,but never saw it!If anyone out there knows anything about this and would like to see pics,I have a whole album of the 999 on yahoo Marx train groups!Or I will email you the pics if you would like.Thanx for any info you have!!

I have heard of them using brass for prototypes, not sure if this applies in your case.  You may want to check with the TCA museaum in Pennsylvania.  If you give them a call and send photos, they may be able to help you.
