Weathering techniques help ?

I'm new to this hobby and would like some help in finding online tutorials on how to weather,not only trains but scene as well.

I sometimes weather buildings but not trains. You could look at pictures of a real loco or building and use chalks as some people do. Google "model railroad weathering chalks". I don't have experience using chalk.
