?Best dump car to haul kitty litter?

And I'm talking about litter fresh out of the store box before the cat does his/her job in it. What brand and kind would be best at hauling it to the litter box? Doesn't matter if its side dump or bottom dump. In the 90s I had a Lionel B&O side dump car that was all plastic accept the wheels. One of the dump mechanisms pins broke and I ended up selling it. No toy trains will be used to haul away used litter.

Are you going to use the cheap and heavy Clay Litter?

Would you be willing to spend extra on the Lionel Metal Side Dump Cars. Even at clearance prices they are expensive, but strong enough for hauling heavy loads.

As a cat owner, I would advise against having kitty litter anywhere near Lionel track.  I've used a couple different brands of litter, and they can get very dusty, especially if the cats get to flinging it in the box like they do at times.  That dust can easily get on the track and wheels of your dump car and get spread to the rest of your track.

Sounds like a potential use for a "Rotary Coal Tipple" and a string of coalporters. Whistling

Yes I looked at those in the catalog. Waaaay too expensive for me. I would be elevating the track and it would dump onto a piece angled about 45 degrees and it would slide. I use the Arm & Hammer litter that is in small granuals.

The metal sided dump cars mentioned above,,, are you  talking about older ones from the 40s/50s or modern manufactured cars?

Perhaps it would just be better to haul Woodland Scenics Talus rocks in a moderately priced MTH RailKing Dump Car.
