Discontunued speaker

I have a bad speaker in a Alco S-2 switcher built by lionel some years ago. I have been told by the service man that this speaker is no longer supported. Can anyone tell me if there is an alternative to it?

Hmmm... If your service man doesn't know the replacement, nor know the phone number to Lionel, I would find a new repairman.

What we would need is the engine model number so we can look it up on Lionel's website, find the service manual (if it is available for download), then look up the specs on the speaker so we could find an alternative. For example if the speaker is 2" diameter, 8ohm, 5w RMS then you could find any speaker matching those specs and you could use it.
