trainsounds cuts out when going over accessory track
Posted by ttjt_99 on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 6:46 PM

Hey all,

My NYC flyer suddenly started having tender sound problems (trainsounds).  It was working flawlessly up until today when I noticed that the horn would blow periodically without having pressed the whistle button.  Also, the chugging sound cuts out briefly when the roller passes over the accessory track activator.  Neither of these issues occurred until today.  The set is new as of this Christmas.  I don't know if this is an indication that the tender car is malfunctioning or there is a voltage problem on the tracks.  I was wondering if anyone out there has had experience with these problems and has some suggestions. Thanks!

99,

If there is a battery port in the tender put a 9 volt battery in it, check your instruction booklet.   Also take a scotch brite pad and rub down track with it and then either use some goof off, or denatured alchol and clean up track.  Also put a drop of oil on the pick up rollers.  Hope this helps?
