My 182 crane brush cap, bearing hole had enlarged over time and caused a loud screaching sound whenever the crane was operated.  Since new brush caps are not available, the original had to be repaired (carefully).   I found that the rotor shaft diameter was the same as the inside diameter for a piece of standard 5/32" brass tubing.  The brush cap hole had two diameters.  Five thirtyseconds for the portion furthest from the rotor shaft and smaller at the end the rotor shaft touched.  I drilled out the brush cap hole to 5/32" through the cap.  I then glued a short (1/4") piece of 5/32" tubing in the hole.  After removing some excess super glue from the inside of the tubing, assembly went very smoothly.  I experienced a small bit of binding. So using some shrink tubing, I attached the assembled motor shaft to my electric drill and spun the rotor slowly for about 3 minutes.  I disassembled the motor, recleaned all parts, relubricated and reassembled the motor.  

This repair was a complete success.  The motor is so quiet now it doesn't sound like the crane even when new. 

I hope someone else can use this type repair technique.
