I came across a site that claimed it had 3 trucks that were 1:43 but I'm a little taken back on the size does this seem right for the length and all for 1:43 Garbage Truck (8-3/8" x 3" x 2-3/4"), Line Maintenance Truck has a cherry-picker on an extendable arm; measures 7-1/4" x 3-1/2" x 2-3/8" with the arm extended. , and Tow Truck features an extendable cable; measures 8" x 2-3/8" x 2-1/8" with the cable extended.
to me I think there a little long/tall/wide seeing the average O-27 flat car is only 10" end to end not counting couplers
Life's hard, even harder if your stupid John Wayne

Well 43 x 8 3/8 = 30 I think so that might be right?
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Is this the site?

They don't make it clear which is the width and which is the height. I'm pretty sure they got it backwards about the arm's and cable's being extended. The 1/43 scale is a mistake for 1/43.5, which is what the British 7-millimeter scale works out to (actually 1/43.543). It's a Hong Kong company; so that's their idea of O scale; and it's about 10 percent larger than American O scale. That, combined with the fact that O27 is typically undersized, would make these models look rather large.
A typical American truck is 8 1/2 feet wide, which is 2 1/8 inches in 1/48 and 2 3/8 in 1/43. An American train is 10 2/3 feet wide, which is 2 2/3 inches in 1/48 and about 3 inches in 1/43.

Thats the site. I thought they sounded kinda big for O scale even if you did use 1:43 I guess actually closer to scale in O is 1:48 which I keep forgetting I know some use 1:43 but its not the 1:43.5 that you referred to and then add the 10% more for coming from Mideast area so that answers this completely and as I figured but wanted confirmation on these are too big
Actually if you read the dimensions it appears they switch the width and height. It appears they are 2 3/8 inches wide, except the dump truck which is 2 3/4 (most likely due to the dump). So my bet is they would look fine next to 1:43 vehicles.I personnally look for 1:50 sized vehicles because it is so difficult to locate true 1:48.BTW - Hong Kong is in Asia, not the Mid East (Iraq, Iran, SA).
I checked Architectural Graphic Standards:
Trash Truck: This is an older style front with the engine under driver cab, and loaded from the back.
Average size: 25'-5" (305") x 7'-11" (95")
1:48 = 6-3/8" x 2"
1:43 = 7-1/16" x 1-3/16"

Park them close to the layout edge.
That's pretty narrow in 1/43, Kurt. I think you meant 2 3/16...;-)

All the New-Ray trucks seem oversize to me.
The Boley 1/48 firetrucks seem large too.
I like the inexpensive die-cast but sometimes you cant find what you need. Some people act like you need to spend a hundred dollars a car like the Brooklin stuff otherwise they look down there nose at you.
