X-Men: Wolverine
Posted by lisican on Sunday, May 3, 2009 7:49 PM

Sort of on topic...

Saw "X-Men- Wolverine" on Friday, and there's a scene with a toy train setup. Nothing major, but I know when I saw it, I thought "hey neat", so maybe someone else will as well. I'm pretty sure it was O gauge, 3-rail.  If you don't care about the movie, I wouldn't go see it for this scene, but if you thought about seeing it anyway, now you have something else to look for.

I remember the kid pulling his Lionel from under his bed & running it briefly in "The Day The Earth Stood Still" back in the early '50's.

In Superman Returns there is an awesome O gauge layout that Lex Luther destroys, one of the most impressive layouts I've ever seen!

Guys,

In the 1947 Classic: "Miracle On 34th. Street", towards the end of the film there's a Christmas party scene in a home for the aged and young Natalie Wood is watching 'O' gauge, F-3/7 Santa Fe 'Super Chief' locomotives coupled, I believe, to a freight train set running around a Christmas tree, this will only be seen in an uncut version.  Unfortunately most T.V. stations show a cut down, commercial inserted, version without the train set.

Let's not forget: "The Adams Family"!

The Addams Family, yea, that was cool!

Don't forget Captain Kangaroo's layouts, and also The Godfather, not only the big meeting in the NYC boardroom, with the huge mural of the Empire Express, but before that, when Tom Hagen is kidnapped by a rival family, it happens in front of a Macy's with a Christmas layout in the window.
