Session Programming Info
Posted by dbaker48 on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 12:10 AM

Been doing a lot of work with the DCS and Legacy Session recording features.  Thought I would share some of the things I have learned.

Thought I would pass along some items I have discovered during the programming processess.

-  You CAN include TMCC/Legacy engines with DCS !  The only thing you need to do is to start the TMCC/Legacy engines BEFORE you initiate the DCS Recording Session.

-  Once you are recording with DCS ANY other DCS handheld will ALSO record the commands coming from that unit.  This of course enables multiple engines running, or even a person working as a Engineer, and another person working as switchman.  (Of course that requires switches being wired to a AIU.  Cost of AIU about $90.  Switches wired in parallel to the momentary switch located at the control panel.)

-  Recording session with DCS can be 90 minute duration or utilized across 3 individual Sessions.

- Legacy recording session, is only functional with TMCC/Legacy engines, and limited to about 15-20 minute duration.  Only 1 session currenty available.

Don:  Great stuff!  I think you're one of the few really getting the most out of those remotes!  Thanks for sharing!
