barrel loader and fastrack
Posted by clarence croxall on Thursday, February 5, 2009 4:58 PM

I have a barrel loader and use it with fastrack and the barrels dont reach the car, how much edge of the track can I trim and not have problems with clearanc on passing trains?

This one is trial and error.  I have a barrel loader too, and needed to raise it about 1/2" and get it to about 1/16" of my H16-44 to get the barrells to reach the gondola.

I believe you will need to raise the barrel loader next to Fastrack, at least 1/2", and may not need to cut any track.

Kurt,  Thanks for the suggestion, I tried it without power to the barrel loader and it seems to work fine. I am still concerned about clearances on passing trains but I may just put it on a siding. Thanks again                                                                                    Clarence Croxall

I just realized we may be talking about 2-different things.

I have a AF 779 Oil Drum Loader.  It looks like a barrel loader.

You are probably talking about a Lionel 362 barrel Loader.

Sorry if I misled you.  But hey, if it worked it worked.
