Wrought Iron Fence
Posted by trainz4brainz on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 11:16 AM

Hi,

In the January Issue of CTT on page 65, there is a photo of Chuck Stone's Impressive Layout.

It shows some Green Cast Fencing with Gold Spires.

I would like to add this to my layout.

Can anyone give me more information about this fencing?

Thanks,

T4B

Those fences give a nice look to tinplate layouts. I see them pop up on ebnay from time to time, either in the Lionel prewar section or the "other" section.

T4B, I think you are referring to  cast iron fencing made by a company called Kenton. You can find it occasionally on ebay, but can be very pricey!      Kurto

Every once in awhile I score some nice wrought iron pieces from Dept 56.  Just keep an eye out for those faded white boxes at a train show near you.
