I have a 425 Girard Car that has a bent axle. What is the best way to change the axle?

What does the underside of the truck assembly look like?

On Lionel prewar O gauge passenger cars you need to pry the side of the truck assembly apart very gently with a flat tip screwdriver and just enough to get the axle out, then re-insert the axle into the hole and snap it back into place, may need to pry the side of the truck open a little.
