Christmas tree layout under construction
Posted by bogaziddy on Sunday, December 7, 2008 4:24 PM

Here are a few pictures of my Christmas tree layout under construction in the driveway in front of my Mount Shasta home. The track plan is from the 'Three times around the tree' layout that appeared in the December 2006 issue of CTT. I've added a siding ( for the most part inside a tunnel ) under the elevated portion of trackage on the left side of the plan as it appears in the magazine.

I've been able to work out of doors since there hasn't been any snowy or inclement weather yet this season ( A scary thought ). Weather is supposed to change by next weekend according to the Man ( I hope he's right ). This should provide me the motivation to complete the benchwork and wiring this week then I'll move the layout into the house for completion.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays Everybody!

Ole Timer

Looking darn good .... and that's a beautiful cat !

Hi 'Ole Timer',

I got the cat at the local animal shelter not quite a year ago. Things have really worked out quite well with him. He gets along with the dog fine ( They're the best of buddies and they hang out together in the front yard when I'm out working on the layout. ) but he's not too keen on the neighbor's cats wandering into the yard.

Have made good progress throughout the week but as the weatheman promised, we got a light dusting of snow Friday night. Will try to take more picks and post them to Sunday Photo Fun tomorrow.

It's trains trains trains on my mind at this special time of year.
