Truck Rivets for Prewar AF 3/16" 0 Gauge Passenger Cars

A plea for help from Cubster.

I have a set of prewar AF 3/16ths 0 gauge passenger cars that I'm restoring (494/495).  I'm one afternoon away from finishing the project, but I'm stalled by a parts problem.

I'm looking for the correct truck-to-body rivets.  I've made two incorrect parts purchases, and I'm hoping someone here has the knowledge I need to order the right ones.

The closest rivets I have are theoretically AF part #PA9381:
  Head:  5/16" diameter, rounded.
  Shoulder:  3/16" diameter, length 1/16"
  Hole: 7/64" (1/8") diameter, length 3/32"

The problem is the last (hole) length:  it needs to be at least 5/32" long to have the correct tolerance to roll-clinch the rivet.  The ones I have are too short to roll-clinch at 3/32".

Anyone know where to order the correct rivets and help preserve my sanity?  Yes, I'll settle for just the former!

Thanks!

Chris

Try Port Lines Hobby.  PA 9381, has the  order number ID 1466, 50 cents each.  Doug is good to buy from.

Good suggestion, SP!

I've ordered from Doug before and have always been very happy with his service. I'll contact him and see if he can help.

I'm a little frustrated, because I've already made two parts orders for PA9381 - and the ones I have are 1/16" too short to roll clinch.  Is PA9381 the correct part number for the truck rivets on the prewar (1941) AF 3/16" 0 gauge 494 baggage and 495 passenger cars?

Thanks!
