6-12062FASTRACK GRADE CROSSING W/ GATES AND FLASHERS

THIS ACCESSORY WORKED GREAT UNTIL I REPOSITIONED IT IN MY LAYOUT.I HAVE FLASHING LIGHTS AND SOUND,BUT THE GATES STAY DOWN NOW.HAS THIS HAPPENED TO ANY OF YOU? I HAVEN'T TRIED TO PRY THE GATES UP.I THOUGHT I'D TRY ASKING FOR IDEAS FIRST.HELP!!!

For the moment at least, don't "pry" anything. What voltage were you running? If device requires prying, something inside device may have melted....

If accessory is screwed to layout, is it possible that it is screwed down too tightly or twisted slightly creating a mechanical bind?

Here's a possibility -- if problem is electrical rather than mechanical:

Choose a location on your layout for the grade crossing. When you assemble the track sections, be sure that the "broken" rails on the Isolated Track sections (included) are on the same side (i.e., locate both "breaks" inside the track loop or outside the track loop). Be sure that the switch on the grade crossing is located on the same side as the breaks in the Isolated Track sections. Refer to Figure 1.  (Quoted directly from Owner's Manual, Customer Service, http://www.lionel.com/ with emphasis added. This is from manual for 6-12052. Could not locate online manual for 6-12062.)
