Truck problem on GN crane car
Posted by pete01 on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 11:24 PM

I pulled a GN crane car (forget the # but from 1988 FF set) out of the box after bringing it home from York and one of the die cast truck assemblies fell on the floor. Seems like I had to awkwardly hold one of two plastic side plates on to the ends of the axles and slide everything back into a slot in the car frame.

Is there a proper fix for this? All I could think of was gluing those plastic inserts but didn't think that might be so swift, for some reason. Any experience with this?

Is it a regular truck assembly? Lionel sells replacement truck assemblies in a two pack with wheels for about $14.00 at most hobby stores that have Lionel trains.  Repairing the truck assembly is a temporary cure at best.My 2 cents [2c]
