Would anyone else like to see Lionel 022 to 072 switch conversion?

I have a layout using tubular track and 24 022 switches and four 072 switches.  I would like to do  some modifications which would allow more of the newer (and larger) equipment to be used, but the 031 curves of the 022 switches are a problem.  I was wondering if Lionel were to offer a reasonably priced 072 switch platform without the motor if there would be much interest among other people with the same intent.  The switches could be powered with old 022 motors from existing equipment or items now found cheaply at most train meets. I feel it could be a win-win for operators as well as manufacturers, as it could create a larger market for the bigger locomotives and rolling-stock.  Just a thought...

reasonably priced! those are the key words. I wound up using ross and gargraves switches. many more options, much better quality and the same price or cheaper.

This is a GREAT idea... I'm in if this ever happens - put me down for about 12-14 pairs!
