running trains,
The Williams heritage engines are made in Union Pacific paint schemes(looks like an SD-70) and are a good bargain considerring the Williams quality and metal gears in their engines and motors. They are lsited on page 89 of the Williams catalog that I have for $229.95. I can get one for about $170.00 from my Williams dealer in Stuart FL but the shipping out of town will eat up any savings. The ones listed are; dual motor diesels, True Blast 2 horn, 6 amp electronic reverse board, die cast truck and operating knuckle couplers, flywheel coasting action on the motors, dual headlights(one at each end).
Williams don't come with TMCC or DCS, you must add that yourself.

So thats why my independant Williams dealer can't get any Williams stuff lately.
How long will this go on?

I think CTT has done several reviews of Williams products in the last few years including a very favorable "long term" review of the RF-16 Sharknose and a similarly favorable review of the more recent Lionel-sized Alco FA's and 027 Streamliners.
I've run a set of the scale-sized FA's for over six years with no problems and that has encouraged me to buy more Williams engines, most recently a GG-1 from Marty at Ma&Pa Junction.
Bottom line, they are good runners and a great value.
