FEBT July Rockhill Work Session
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, July 17, 2003 9:50 AM
The FEBT Rockhill Work crew is dedicated to the preservation and restoration of the historic shops complex and other facilities in the East Broad Top's Rockhill Furnace yard.

If you are interested in the future of the EBT, join us and help us preserve this national treasure. The more volunteers we have the more restoration work can be done. We can use any volunteers who can come, no matter your skill level.

The next FEBT Rockhill Work Session will take place Saturday and Sunday, July 19-20. We will work from 9 am to 6 pm Saturday and from 9 am to 4 pm on Sunday.

PROJECTS WE WILL WORK ON (priority order)
1. If coach No. 8 can be spared from service, complete window sill installation and do various repairs to the roof of the car.
2. Continue tie replacements on Track 3.
3. Complete siding repairs, trim installation and caulking on the east and north walls of the electrician's shop and power-wash preparatory to priming in August.
4. Survey the extent of the decay and prepare a materials list for the roof work in the carshop "canyon" area.
5. Prime the north wall of the car shop preparatory to painting in August.
6. Prepare and cut glass for standard shop window sizes.
7. Continue work on the north section shed, with the goal of beginning the reinstallation of sheathing.

GROUND RULES
To take part you must be 18 or older and a member of the FEBT (or join the FEBT at the work site.) These are insurance requirements. We are guests of the railroad and need to behave accordingly.

Last-minute walk-ons are always welcome at our sessions, but if possible, drop an email to LeeRainey@aol.com in advance to let out coordinator, Lee Rainey, know that you are coming. It helps with the planning.

See you there!
