Current Issue page 52 notes
Posted by SSW9389 on Sunday, August 2, 2009 5:09 AM

This page had a couple of data errors.

The B&O EA and EB passenger units were built between May 1937 and June 1938. Data from A J Kristopans website.

The ALCO High Hood Switchers were built first with the 531 engine and later with the 538 engine. The 539 engine was developed from the 538. The 539 was able to be mounted into the frame of the locomotive allowing room above the engine for the hood to be lowered. This resulted in the S-1 and S-2 switchers of 1940.  Data from Richard Steinbrenner's ALCO A Centennial Remembrance.
