"All in the Family" I recall walking around the corner to your cousin's store on Whitney a few times.

Nice. 'hood. My cousin owns the Whitneyville Food Center just up the street. Her father was a passenger conductor on the New Haven for 53 years.

Thanks, Joe. I live in the western Chicago suburbs near the UP West mainline. But if I get down to New Haven, I will let you know. Lobster rolls are great. Also quohogs!
Overmod You HAD to make me think about Lenny's and lobster roll, didn't you. Rats! And with BERA's museum opening up again, too... Can't wait for this war to be over.

Are you and charlie local? If so and you like lobster rolls (hot) I can direct or accompany you to the very best hot lobster roll. WX permitting and masks required I can throw in a Thimble Islands cruise.
243129 charlie hebdo I was lucky to enjoy visiting one of those Thimbles once while visiting my sister in New Haven. I also recall a great shore dinner in Branford near the waterfront. The Thimbles are a beautiful group of islands. I never tire of visiting them. Would that have been the Indian Head Inn or Ow-en-ego you dined at?

I don't think I ever noticed the name. But it was loud and with great fresh seafood.
OvermodThere is obviously someone at the wheel but they are largely obscured by cloud reflections in the windshield glass.
I am at the wheel.
OvermodWhere do I sign up for reservations?
In addition to the many head-end rides I have given I also give boat rides. My Thimble Island cruises are unmatched.
COVID-19 however has put a damper on inviting guests this season.
Electroliner 1935one with a cap holding the cola
My daughter.
Electroliner 1935and a curly haired person that would normally be assumed to be a female.
My grandson.
Electroliner 1935and the cola drinker is YOU?
Nope, I am operating the boat. You went 0 for 3.
The more I look at the picture, the more people I think I see... there are two in rear-facing seats in addition to the 'bright curly haired' head and the person holding the bottle... which looks to me very like a 20oz. Coke bottle. (I can't figure out what the tan 'plume' across that person's torso is, and blown up on a Retina screen the detail is too blurry for me to make out that individual's sex.)

243129 The "individual" in the picture is my daughter. Your zoom and or sight should be attended to.
I see two people in the corner of the picture, one with a cap holding the cola and a curly haired person that would normally be assumed to be a female. So I suspect that the curly haired individual is your daughter and the cola drinker is YOU? Looks like a tough life. Much more fun than being at the throttle for a whole sift.
243129 BaltACD Picture, to me, appears to be a boat manufacturers publicity shot. Incorrect, it is a picture of my vessel underway taken from a helicopter by BOATPIX.

This is the 'snark'.
charlie hebdoWhile I agree about alcohol and piloting a boat or ship being incompatible, boating and others drinking some kind of beverage are part of the experience. And I said "light-hearted" which should have been a clue.
Too many boaters are 'light hearted' in their thoughts about mixing alcohol and boating. The undertakers make it real. About every other day there is a report of some one being killed on the water - too many reports of 'light hearted' dead boaters.
While I agree about alcohol and piloting a boat or ship being incompatible, boating and others drinking some kind of beverage are part of the experience. And I said "light-hearted" which should have been a clue.
charlie hebdoBaltACD : Can't we stuff the snarky stuff, especially on a light-hearted exchange of summer fun?
Since when is 'individual' snarky? Picture, to me, appears to be a boat manufacturers publicity shot. Don't know the manufacturer, don't know the boat and don't care to know either.
Living in both Jacksonville, where alcohol is a factor in numerouse boating incidents that take place in the Atlantic Ocean, the Intercoastal Waterway as well as the St. Johns River; in Maryland there are also numerous alcohol related boating incidents happening on the Chesapeake Bay and its tributary rivers.
Alcohol and boating are as serious a combination as is alcohol and driving; probably even more serious as most 'pleasure' boaters have less experience on water than they do behind the wheel. Right of way on water is a continually evolving situation, made even more difficult with a alcohol addled brain. Even US Navy Captians have had trouble with the rules of right of way as their vessels have been involved in serveral collisions in recent years.
BaltACD : Can't we stuff the snarky stuff, especially on a light-hearted exchange of summer fun?
Never an ice cube. I was always a purist and drank it neat. But a friend suggested that just a little pure water [room temperature] added [3 parts whiskey to 0.5-1.0 parts water] brings out more flavor of the single malt. He had some explanation as a chemist, but what mattered was it works, at least for me.
I'd prefer to sail, as I used to with an uncle years ago out-of Setauket across the Sound. But a stinkpot is OK!
The "individual" in the picture is my daughter. Your zoom and or sight should be attended to.
In answer to your snarky question, I have an acronym for you to decipher. GFY.
