Hey folks, anyone remember a Ted Benson story about trying to hunt down the UP E9 that was leading a set of Amtrak Es on the SFZ in 1974? It may be part of the cover story of the TRAINS April 1975 issue. If any of you have it, would you check and see if he writes about hunting down the UP E in Wyoming leading the Amtrak E's. I sure would appreciate it. My used magazine haunts are shut down.
Karl Zimmerman has a few photos from the essay in his excellent book, Amtrak at Milepost 10, but I can't remember what magazine the essay was in. I have checked my hard copies, and online searches of TRAINS and Classic Trains. Can anyone help? I made a YouTube video based on it and I want to give proper credit. Thanks.
