When #7 was leaving CHI  US two cars derailed  under the shed.  That is Amtrak tracks.

CHI Union Station - Another station with track problems

I googled your title and only old stories (2019 and earlier) came up. Was there something else you were suggesting?

#7 departs from the North side of CUS but of course comes through from the yards on the South side. I think track issues would have had an impact on Metra, not just #7.

Updated, Just found reference, http://cs.trains.com/trn/f/743/t/281250.aspx. Sounds like train departed but didn't get to Glenview. Curious.

NP Eddie

Does anyone know the reason for the 7 hour 7 minute delay for #7 of the 7th between Chicago and Glenview? As of 1051AM CDT it departed St. Cloud, MN will running seven hours late.

Eddie, you may find some answer in this thread: CHI Union Station - Another station with track problems

I have the impression that the full story is not told in what has been posted.
