I think this is a good move and helps a lot with transparency. So it looks like FINALLY, they are considering adding another class of service to Long Distance service called "Experiential Class" in their words becase the only people that ride Long Distance trains more than one overnight are primarily retirees for the experience and rail ethusiasts (lol). I think that is a good move as well as breaking out the LDSL - Long Distance Service Line into it's own financials.
Though I personally think they could do a LOT more to enhance revenue on the LDSL then they are doing already via partnerships or packages with other firms. Willing to wait and see how much this new "Experiential Class" costs when they roll it out. Apparently, they want to roll it out to a single train at first in a type of experiment.
Also, of note.......still fixated on extending the Heartland Flyer North to at least Newton, KS to connect with Southwest Chief route. Would prefer through coach and sleeping car service to KC but we'll see what they come up with there as well.
