Siemens Canada, ha-ha. Pretty sure they are going to be built in California and any local Canadian content will be imported.
Same as for the Brightline rolling stock. Remember the press releases about the suppliers from some 20 US states that made components for the Brightline trainsets? Assembled in California but made in places from all over North America.
Some one who knows. Will the parts imported be subject to any tarrifs? If so can the tarrifs be recovred whenthe cars are delivered to VIA? Any Canadian tarrifs?

From the story, "To become a shortlisted Siemens supplier, interested parties can fill out the Supplier Application Form. This link open a window"
Of course, there is no link and no window, because someone cut and pasted from the original press release without thinking enough.
The Supplier Application Form is here -- but be advised it is an Excel spreadsheet file. The address to return it to (in case that isn't in one of the cells or whatever) is
viarailfleet.procurement.ca@siemens.com
which is also the e-mail address if you have any questions (or need a different form!)
(For some reason I had no success in getting the e-mail link live with Kalmbach's tools. You may have to just cut and paste... unless someone more tech-savvy can get it to light up with linkmail to: or whatever)
