I think I read somewhere you have to know how to isolate the locomotive before you can operate it independently while MU'd. That might be just part of it......not a locomotive engineer and just guessing I don't think you can just jump on board and issue throttle commands that override the MU without more steps.

Put your CA-bashing card away for 5 minutes. We had naked guys jump on our trains here in our east coast state. Probably happens in every state - don't do drugs kids, mmmmkay?

At your location you must have watched the Cheeseheads at Packers games! Shirtless at 0 F and loving it with their interior heated with compious amounts of fermented grain droppings. Jack and Captain spring to mind.
Never too old to have a happy childhood!
charlie hebdo Nothing wrong with that. Adds a bit of a PBS / "Masterpiece Theater" chachet to the discussion. CMStPnP bad behaviour Now you are adopting British/Canadian/Australian orthographic styles?

Another popular pastime around here is driving around in a pickup truck with the temperature near or below zero, perhaps during a snowfall, the windows wide open, and the elbow out the window.

Your not going to mention driving the trucks on frozen lakes to go ice fishing? How could you neglect that? Every first responders dream to dive under a frozen lake surface in really cold temperatures looking for victims in murky/dark water, with just one dive or escape hole....

Au contraire, I used to be "Firelock76," I had to change my "call sign" when I changed computers. That and the Kalmbach log-in mess a month ago caused problems too.
Unless of course, you know it's "me" already. In that case, never mind.

Many years ago while down in Des Moines the Short Line yardmaster related this tale. The ym used to be in a raised tower on the yard office building. One night he was watching the Iowa Interstate's through train going through the yard. About midway through the train he saw naked guy on top of a covered hopper. (The IAIS traverses the south part of the downtown area, populated with many nearby establishments serving adult beverages.) He called the IAIS train and had them stopped and then called the police for assistance. He watched the guy walk around the car top and then fall of the car. He then stopped the yard engines and called for medical assistance. Shortly after, the guy turns up ay the yard office after walking through the bowl tracks. He tried getting in the driver's seat of one of the yard vans when the authorities arrived. Because of trying to get in the van, a manager (I don't remember if it was railroad or the van company) wanted him arrested for trying to steal the van. They took him away, but I don't think he ever was charged for the trying to steal the van.

I had no idea nude train-hopping was such a popular sport. I'm beginning to wonder if I should try it.

Way up North here, there are ice roads that are driven on by 18 wheelers to supply small villages that are inaccesible except by air which is expensive. They drive very slowly with the door open in case the ice gives way and they have to jump out. Losing a rig happens now and then.
