Gee, wouldn't it be a hoot if they discovered through this that the corridor can be "adequately" served long term through this reduction in frequencies? All they had to do is twist their customer's arms a little bit, make them more open minded to amending their expectations. LOL.
Then there is the little matter of that Chicago to LA segment of the Texas Eagle simply getting terminated in San Antonio "for the duration".....sounds strangely reminiscent of an earlier era in passenger railroading, doesn't it?

RailSpike Beginning January 18, 2019, the Sunset Limited will depart LAX at 7:26 PM instead of 10:00 PM. There are already cancellations for Sundays throughout January and February from LAX. Anybody know what's going on?
Arrival in LAX from the east is now scheduled for 8:40 am, which is lot better than the 5:35 am arrival under the current schedule.
