I'll have to see if I can find that.
I wrote about my trip this spring from east coast to west on Amtrak. I traveled alone but is was my first trip across country on train since 1960! In short I found it the best way to travel by far. My long story is at

Dave, I really enjoyed the account of your trip to Fullerton and back. My wife and I have taken the Cardinal both ways between Washington and Chicago, and we enjoyed it both ways (though last year, as we were eating lunch eastbound, the engineer speeded up on some very rough track and we wondered if we would be able to safely get back to our room). We have also taken the Southwest Chief from Chicago to Los Angeles; perhaps we will be able to make the reverse move on one of our future trips.
I have a sister-in-law in Lewisburg (she was born and grew up just south of the Greenbrier-Monroe county line), and when visiting her, either at her home or in Lewisburg, have greatly enjoyed that part of West Virginia.
