Sacramento station

Got off the Zephyr in Sacramento to allow additional cushion of time to catch northbound Coast Starlight to Seattle at 11:59 Pm.  Unfortunately the Starlight was delayed four hours due to a suicide attempt in LA.  What a disaster the Sacramento station is.  Every train through Sacramento said on time.  Standard answer on every train was running 45 minutes late. Homeless guy raised hell because he can't charge his phone in the station.  Another guy rode through the station on a bicycle and stole something.  Doors were locked open so the statioon got down into the high 50s about midnight.  all announcements were garbled by echoing off the marble walls.  Amtrak guy who said the train was coming was not understandable and was obnoxious to anyone who asked him anything at 4am when the train finally got there.  Worst problem is they moved the tracks 1600 feet from the station.  that is 1/4 mile plus a 100 yard dash at 4am.  should have gone on to Emeryville for the exchange.   highly reccomend stopping somewhere else if possible

It's the capital of the People's Republic of California. What did you expect?
