The original "Superman" movie.

I recendly re-viewed the "Superman" movie. What location was the AMTRAK train in the movie? Also, good to see the NP nomad on a dome car! Is that car still around?

Much of the location shooting for the period of Clark Kent's youth was shot in Canada.  I believe the train in question used CP equipment.

I think he was referring to the earthquake scene where a train of mostly phase I Amtrak equipment is lead by three phase II SDP40Fs.  A crack in an embankment causes the track to break in front of the train, and Superman uses his body to replace one rail while holding the other in place, which would make a bit of a bump I would think as the train passed over him.

Notice the suspension bridge did not succumb to a single point failure - multiple failure points and still standing.

Note further the difference between the damage to the bridge in the movie and the earthquake damage to the similarly-reinforced Bay Bridge... those trusses would likely not have stayed so intact in a 'real' event of that magnitude...
