It happens too often but now even a training run for this post.

This is Irvington, Alabama, near Mobile.

This doesn't bode at all well for the restored Amtrak service from New Orleans that has been so long and bitterly contested.  Note some of the details in the news story: the guy who 'beat the train' right in front of the accident truck; the two vehicles running the crossing ahead of the freight; the missing gate arm in a 'quiet zone' that apparently was broken off by a semi not paying attention.  Note that there was no interviewing of the Amtrak trainee(s) involved in this...

One srike and one near miss breaking gate arm again.  Seems this is one crossing that need more TLC?

#8 hit car near Williston 2 teens passed and 1 teen driver critical.  # 531 south of Davis  1 fatality.  Both yesterday April 3rd.

EDIT:  At least one person dead after crash between vehicle and Amtrak train south of Davis (yahoo.com)
