C'mon lets see those bi-level Siemens Mobility Sleeping Car concepts in response to the Amtrak Superliner replacement RFP.    The suspense is killing me here.....     Time to kick butt again Siemens, what are you waiting for???

Are they lower clearence than the Superliners?   Can they be used on the Eastern Coast routes as well?   If memory serves me correctly the vestibule is at single car level with a staircase up to the upper level and a staircase down to the lower level both of which could probably be reclined back a little and converted to ramps for wheelchair folks vs stairs.

Will Siemens finally bridge the idiotic divide between West Coast Long Distance and East Coast Long Distance equipment and save Amtrak more money?

Anticipation is building here.....

There are not any pictures that I am aware of.    The first post was an anticipatory post wanting to see the concepts of the cars if they exist.    Though I have to say the new single level NightJet cars being produced in Europe might be a good initial predictor.    Also, I suspect they will be split level sleepers because of the capacity will keep the fixed costs lower than single level and it seems cheaper to produce less cars of higher capacity each then more cars of less capacity.    We'll see what Amtrak decides on though, their decisions sometimes do not always make sense to me financially.    I am banking on Siemens hitting the ball out of the park with their response to the RFP when they get the RFP.
