Travel from Faro (Portugal) to Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) by train (11384km). To travel by train from Faro in Portugal to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, the main route leads via Spain, France, Germany, Poland, Russia and China. The total travel time is about 10 days and varies if you have stops along your route

Your travel route could be like that.

From Faro to Ho Chi Minh City by Train from €569.00 | railcc

Seems cheap for that long a ride.

wow that would be quite a trip, but some of those countries I  would not want to travel  thru, like Russia, China and even Nam.   Had a friend who always wanted to ride Trans Siberian RR similar route, but he never did it.

It would.  But the cheapest price quoted for the Moscow-Beijing leg alone is 650 Euro (if you want the two-bed and showers, 900), with the article itself saying the trip will be 1200 or higher.

I'd be highly interested in those Talgo sleepers.
